Astăzi, în turul 2 (R64) pe jumătatea inferioară a tabloului feminin la Australian Open 2019 au fost eliminaţi 4 capi de serie, care li se adaugă celor 3 învinşi în primul tur (R64), astfel că doar 9 jucătoare cotate printre favorite vor aborda turul 3 (R32) pe acest segment.
Cea mai importantă eliminare este cea a unei jucătoare din top 10 WTA, care era angrenată şi ea – cu şanse teoretice – în lupta pentru locul 1 WTA:
